Still No Verdict After Day 4 In WTC Insurance Case

DOW JONES NEWSWIRE - April 22, 2004

By Janet Morrissey
Ralph Tortorella, a partner in the Catastrophic Injury Practice Group at Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley, said he isn't surprised that a verdict hasn't been reached yet as the jury must absorb 10 weeks of testimony and evidence. "Four days isn't unusual," said Tortorella, who has represented clients and lectured on insurance, construction, catastrophic loss and terrorism. He said he wouldn't start to be concerned until the jury had been out for two weeks. And he doesn't believe a lengthy deliberation period necessarily favors any one side over the other.
