RMKB's Partner Enrique Marinez Appointed as Legal Advisor To The Board Of Directors for the Bay Area Gardener’s Foundation

REDWOOD CITY, CALIF., Mar. 23, 2009 – Enrique Marinez, a commercial litigator and partner at Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley (RMKB), was recently appointed as a Legal Advisor to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Gardener’s Foundation. The Bay Area Gardener’s Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to providing financial support to economically disadvantaged students seeking to attain higher education. The Foundation awarded 16 scholarships in 2008 with the goal of instilling in the recipients a sense of pride and spirit of giving back to their community in a “pay it forward” fashion, in addition to supporting their aspirations to graduate from a college or university.

“The Bay Area Gardener’s Foundation provides a wonderful scholarship program that gives disadvantaged students in the San Francisco Bay Area the means to attain their goals,” said Marinez. “I am proud to be involved with this organization and look forward to working with the board members to further advance the organization’s main objective, which is to provide resources to those who want to continue their education but don’t have the support.”
Professionally, Marinez’s law practice involves a broad range of complex commercial litigation for product liability, real estate, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, insurance coverage and bad faith cases. He co-chairs RMKB’s Diversity Committee, is an active member of the San Mateo County Bar Association’s Diversity Task Force, the Association of Defense Counsel and the Hispanic National Bar Association. Marinez earned his J.D. from Whittier College School of Law (1992, cum laude) and his B.A. in economics from Occidental College (1987).
