Attorney Elise Vasquez published an article discussing California Assembly Bill 1844, which limits an employer's ability to request an employee's social media passwords, in The Recorder. Vasquez notes that critics of the bill have argued that some of its provisions may conflict with already existing regulations required by agencies such as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and recommends steps employers can take to avoid such conflicts.
