EXPERIENCE

Alexis Kent is an associate in the Redwood City office of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley. Her practice focuses on the representation of insurance carriers in bad faith and coverage litigation, as well as ERISA litigation.

Ms. Kent was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area. For her undergraduate studies, she attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a City University of New York college in Manhattan, where she earned her B.A. in criminal justice and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005. After one year of working at the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, she attended the University of San Francisco School of Law. She continued working for the District Attorney's Office during her first year of law school and returned as a law clerk the summer following her second year. While at the law school, Ms. Kent was a member of the law review and published an article entitled "A Matter of Law: The Non-Violent Homosexual Advance Defense is Insufficient Evidence of Provocation." (44 U.S.F. L. Rev 155, November 2009).  Ms. Kent graduated Magna Cum Laude from USF Law in May 2009.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kent served as law clerk to the Honorable Maria-Elena James, the Chief Magistrate for the Northern District of California.

Ms. Kent is a member of the USF Women Lawyers Committee and the San Mateo County Bar Association. During law school, She was an academic tutor to her fellow law students, specializing in the law of Contracts, and she continues to mentor law students today. Ms. Kent is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of California.
