Christopher J. Gioia

Associate — New York

Christopher is a member of the firm’s construction and insurance litigation teams, which work on some of New York City’s largest construction projects.  He handles a wide array of matters, both in suit litigation and pre-suit counseling and avoidance of claims.  He handles a wide array of Labor Law suits, property damage and premises claims, as wells as counsels on contractual issues.

Prior to joining RMKB, Christopher was an associate at a Manhattan law firm where he specialized in defending insurance companies’ high net worth clients, as well as defending contractors and building owners, and conducting investigation and providing coverage opinions on first party jewelry loss claims.  Christopher's experience included a variety of work, spanning from automobile, premises, labor law, construction, property damage, as well as handling real estate/property disputes and Section 1983 claims.  His representation focuses on keeping his clients updated, and apprising them of available litigation options on their matters so that he can effectively accomplish their objectives.  This has resulted in case dismissals on summary judgment and satisfactory results through common sense resolution.

At Hofstra University School of Law, Christopher served as an oralist at the Wilhelm C. Vis Moot International Commercial Arbitration Competition in Vienna, and was a champion and Board Member of the Dispute Resolution Society, where he presently serves as a Special Professor of Law and Faculty Advisor to the University's Dispute Resolution Society.
