James C. Hildebrand focuses his practice on copyright, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, and commercial litigation.  Mr. Hildebrand has defended corporate and individual clients from a wide range of industries, including the manufacturing, fashion, financial, retail and entertainment industries, in both the state and federal courts in a variety of circumstances in which it was alleged that his clients infringed or misappropriated the plaintiffs’ intellectual property rights.

Some representative matters handled by Mr. Hildebrand include representing a medical services provider sued for trade name infringement, representing a pool equipment manufacturer whose product configuration was alleged to infringe the plaintiff’s claimed trade dress, representing a jewelry distributor for allegedly infringing a jewelry designer’s copyright, and representing a retailer who allegedly misappropriated an Olympic athlete’s right of publicity by using the athlete’s photograph in advertising.

Mr. Hildebrand is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz and Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where he was the Research Editor of the Law Review and graduated cum laude.
