Mario A. Iskander


Associate — Redwood City


Mario A. Iskander is an associate in the Redwood City office of Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley. He started as a law clerk with the firm after graduating law school. He has experience in cutting edge commercial litigation where he focuses on antitrust, torts, trade secrets, trademarks, unfair competition and contract breach claims. Mr. Iskander has international experience working with clients from Egypt, his home country.

Prior to joining RMKB, Mr. Iskander was research assistant to Dean Susan Friewald, Dean of the University of San Francisco School of Law. He helped with investigating data privacy concerns of ECPA as compared to CALECPA and monitored local and state legislation, municipal and state regulations to aid with the Dean’s lectures, seminars and publications. Mr. Iskander is cited in several of the Deans publications in the Berkeley Law Review and the Harvard Law Review. Mr. Iskander published his own writing in the University of San Francisco Intellectual Property and Technology Journal-- Blockchain: The Future of All Data 22 Intellect. Prop. & Tech. L. J. 1 (2017-2018). Mr. Iskander was a Senior Research Fellow for the McCarthy Institute of Intellectual Property and Technology law, under the guidance of David Franklyn.

Mr. Iskander earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2018 and his B.A in Political Science and Government from the California State University, Fullerton. During law school he was a Survey Editor for the University of San Francisco Intellectual Property and Technology Journal and served as a Student Bar Association representative and was President of the Middle Eastern and North African Law School Association which maintained a seat at the Student Senate.  He oversaw and advocated for the overhaul of the association from the Middle Eastern Law School Association to a more inclusive Middle Eastern and North African Law School Association drafting the association’s constitution and bylaws to be proactively more inclusive of several cultures.

In his current practice, Mr. Iskander advises and consults clients on an array of strategies including Forms of Incorporation; Taxes and Accounting; Co-Founder Agreements; Employment Law; Privacy Policies and Terms of Use Agreements; and Intellectual Property Portfolio, integration, management, and monetization.  When Mr. Iskander’s is not advocating for his clients’ interests he is on the mats since he holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jui Jitsu.  He also enjoys playing soccer and video games.
