EXPERIENCE
Richard K. Wilson has been the Managing Partner of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley since January of 1997. His practice commencing in 1990 focused primarily on the area of defense of insurance companies in coverage matters, with an emphasis on environmental coverage. His representation of both primary and excess carriers in such matters included the defense of associated bad faith allegations. Prior to that, he was responsible for the supervision and litigation of products liability actions in five western states for a major client. This involved day-to-day handling of hundreds of lawsuits filed in California and supervision of selected trial counsel in other states. Before joining the firm in 1978, he was a senior trial lawyer in the District Attorney's Office in Solano County.
He has been a speaker at various seminars on topics relating to tort litigation and insurance coverage. He has also been an instructor at Hastings College of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Wilson holds membership in the State Bar of California, the Association of Defense Counsel and San Mateo County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice in the California State and Federal Courts.
Mr. Wilson was born on August 6, 1949, in Vallejo, California. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972. His law degree was conferred by the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1976. While there, he was a member of the Hastings Law Review.
